iTunes Still Has a Flame Going for the Crazy Ones

I think it is safe to say that iTunes' Genius feature is still in the "progris riport 1, martch 3" stage of its presumed Algernon-like arc to superintelligence and beyond. I have about 6200 songs in my iTunes library right now. Not a huge number, but one that that should offer enough grist for the Genius to put together fairly diverse playlists. But so far, no matter what song I choose as the seed, iTunes seems to think that Cat Power's He War "goes great" with it. Someone has a crush.

ha ha - yessss... on the free music end of that spectrum, Pandora.com is one giant genius feature with a very limited repetoire. But that can work to your advantage.
For example, when you make the "Suicide Channel" so you can hear Rocket USA, they'll think you might want to hear something by a KMFDM rip off band as well, which you don't. But then they'll put on Martin Rev's fourth solo album, which no one in the world has heard, and it's kind of un petit amusant.
